Q. How does Citi MasterCard with PayPass work?

A. Citi MasterCard with PayPass contains a hidden computer chip and radio frequency antennae. When you're in front of a PayPass reader and you tap your card, payment details are sent wirelessly to the Citi MasterCard network. Moments after you tap, you will receive payment confirmation and are on your way.

Q. Why introduce PayPass?

A. Using a Citi MasterCard with PayPass is a simple and easy way to reduce the amount of time spend at a checkout or gas pump.

Q. Is this technology as secure as my current Citi MasterCard?

A. Your Citi MasterCard with PayPass never leaves your hand during payment - you're in control.

Q. Does this technology replace the need for me to swipe my card?

A. Your Citi MasterCard with PayPass contains both PayPass and swipe technology. If you find yourself at the checkout of a retailer that is not yet on the PayPass network, you can swipe your card to pay.
